I usually do 100 bountymats and 1000 souls, that way all the GRs might actually drop something nice before you reroll. Depending on how much time you are playing, you can start off by doing a few bounty runs, then a bunch of speed grs. I've come to the same conclusion as you with rerolling being the best option. (at ~900 paragon, have been playing other classes aswell though). On my char the only gearpiece that deserves an augment is my belt. Getting a decent dagger is relatively easy, but getting a good one is hard, high dmgrange, +10%, IAS and a high leg affix. Quivers are hard to get since you need, high leg affix + impale% + critchange + cold/lightning as a minimum (normal might be better than ancients here.). Meanwhile i have full ancient UE, with primal chest and shoulders and for that set i havent rerolled a single piece. Ive gotten ancient pants (crappy with armor), and i rerolled to an ancient chest (crappy with armor). It seems to me that this set is rarer than the others, at least ancient pieces. Go in with a mind that's prepared to scour the Helltide zone for the entire hour and find nothing, because it's a possibility.Ive been running Impale DH aswell. These will run you 175 Aberrant Cinders to open up, and again nothing is guaranteed. The other method is to find Helltide chests (known in-game as Tortured Gifts of Mystery). The keyword being 'chance' – as we mentioned before, these materials have a low drop rate, so don't be disheartened if you don't find some right away.
